Patio, Driveway & Pool Deck Drainage Solutions in DeLand, FL

Clean, permanent solutions for standing water on hard surfaces.  At Tree of Life Landscaping, we’ve helped hundreds of homeowners across Central Florida solve hard surface drainage problems with clean, long-lasting solutions. We're a certified NDS Drainage Contractor, and our team is trained to install professional-grade drainage systems that meet national standards, not just patch the problem.

If water is pooling on your patio, driveway, or pool deck, it’s likely due to improper slope, blocked runoff, or poor surface drainage, all common issues in DeLand’s flat terrain and sandy soils. With more than 50 inches of rainfall per year, your hard surfaces need a way to move water quickly and efficiently.

We specialize in channel drains, strip drains, drain boxes, and full underground systems that route water where it needs to go, and keep it away from your home. Our work is built to perform and built to last.

Why hard surface drainage needs a different approach

Unlike your lawn or garden, water can’t soak through concrete, pavers, or tile. That means any slope issues, clogged downspouts, or blocked flow paths can quickly turn into standing water, erosion, or structural damage.

Our job is to create a low-profile, professional system that quietly moves the water where it needs to go, without tearing up your yard or leaving an ugly solution behind.

Drainage solutions for patios, driveways, and pool decks

Patio Drainage, Driveway Drainage, and Pool Deck Drainage Solutions.

Channel Drains (Strip Drains)

These narrow, trench-style drains are cut directly into concrete, pavers, or other hard surfaces. They collect water as it flows across the surface and send it underground through connected piping. We can install them during new construction or retrofit them into existing patios, driveways, or pool decks.

Drain Boxes at Low Points

In areas where water naturally pools, such as corners or low patio edges, we install discreet drain boxes that connect to underground pipes. This allows us to catch and redirect water before it becomes a problem.

Tie-ins to Downspouts and French Drains

Many hard surface drainage issues start with roof runoff. We often tie your patio or driveway drainage into a larger system, including downspout extensions, French drains, or pop-up emitters, giving water a direct exit point away from your home.

Solutions tailored to your space

Patio Drainage

We frequently install strip drains along the edge of patios, especially where water flows back toward the house. These systems help keep patios dry and prevent soil erosion around paver borders.

Driveway Drainage

If your driveway slopes toward your garage or the street, we may install a trench drain across the low point to intercept water before it floods inside. We’ve done this in driveways across Deland, Orange City, and Deltona — and it works.

Pool Deck Drainage

Pool decks often hold water in low spots or between pavers. We install flush channel drains that blend into your hardscape and prevent standing water from undermining the deck or creating slip hazards.

This contractor is highly recommended. They installed a retaining wall, paver patio, paver walkway and French drain, with decorative rock on top and along the border. They were professional, respectful of our property and had genuine concern over the quality of their work.

I recently had gutters and downspouts installed on my house and noticed a lot of standing water coming from one of the downspouts. I contacted Michael about possible drainage solutions and he suggested a french drain. He was able to come look at the site the same day, and after the utility lines were marked he installed the drain in one day. He was very professional and helpful, even taking time to make a trip to the hardware store to improve the design of the drain. I was very satisfied with the price, the speed, and the function of the project. I would highly recommend Tree of Life to anybody who needs landscaping. (He also contacted me a month later after some hard rain to check how it working. Great service!)

Mike was very easy to work with and I am extremely happy with the work he did for me. He did hard and soft landscaping, irrigation repair, installed two French drains, and cleaned and sealed my paver driveway. Extremely extremely happy with the results. He picks materials of good quality for installation, and takes pride in his work, coming and checking on if there is anything that needs adjusting after completion of the project. I definitely recommend.
