We Solve Pooling Water Problems for New Smyrna Beach Homeowners

In New Smyrna Beach, Florida, heavy summer storms and more than 50 inches of yearly rainfall often cause serious drainage issues for homeowners. The city’s coastal setting, flat lots, and sandy soils—especially in communities like Venetian Bay, Isles of Sugar Mill, Coronado, and Coastal Woods—create conditions where water easily pools, lawns stay soggy, and erosion damages landscaping.

Tree of Life Landscaping is an NDS Certified Drainage Contractor with the expertise to solve these challenges. With a 4.9-star Google rating, over 60 verified reviews, and extensive experience across Volusia County, we’re trusted by homeowners to deliver systems that last.

Common problems we address in New Smyrna Beach include water gathering around foundations, mulch and soil washing away from garden beds, and puddling on driveways, patios, and pool decks. If left untreated, these issues can destroy turf, weaken hardscapes, and even impact your home’s structural integrity.

Our team designs and installs custom solutions built for coastal Central Florida conditions, such as French drains, downspout extensions, channel drains, patio and driveway drainage, and drain boxes. Each system is tailored to your property to move water safely away and keep your yard dry and usable all year long.

What Drainage Problem Do You Have On Your New Smyrna Beach Property?

    • Are your walkways or paths often muddy or slippery from excess water?
    • Do your downspouts overflow during heavy Florida rainstorms?
    • Is water collecting in low-lying areas of your yard after it rains?
    • Does mulch or soil wash away from your garden beds during storms?
    • Are you noticing water pooling near the foundation of your home?
    • Do soggy spots remain around trees or landscaped areas?
    • Is your patio, driveway, or pool deck left with puddles and slick surfaces after rainfall?

Without the right drainage in place, your lawn and landscaping are at risk of flooding. Excess water can suffocate plants, erode expensive hardscaping, and even cause foundation damage over time.

Many properties in New Smyrna Beach, including neighborhoods such as Venetian Bay, Isles of Sugar Mill, Coastal Woods, and Coronado, experience drainage problems or suffer from poorly installed systems. The result is erosion, standing water, soggy lawns, and flooding across landscapes. At Tree of Life Landscaping, we create custom drainage plans that solve these issues permanently and protect your property year-round.

Drainage Systems We Install in New Smyrna Beach

At Tree of Life Landscaping, we design and install custom drainage systems specifically for New Smyrna Beach’s heavy rains, sandy soils, and flat landscapes. Each solution is customized to your property and installed following NDS-certified best practices for long-lasting protection. Here are the main systems we provide:

Drainage System Install New Smyrna Beach

French Drains

We install underground French drains to move water away from trouble spots in your yard. Built with durable PVC piping, drainage rock, and optional pop-up emitters, these systems help keep lawns and garden beds in New Smyrna Beach from becoming saturated or eroded.

Channel Drains

Ideal for patios, driveways, and pool decks, channel drains collect surface water and carry it into underground piping. This reduces flooding around hardscaped areas and helps prevent slick, hazardous conditions after New Smyrna Beach’s frequent rainstorms.

Downspout Drainage

Our team extends gutter downspouts underground to direct roof runoff safely away from your foundation. These systems can be customized with filter fittings, pop-up emitters, or tie-ins to French drains and drain boxes, giving New Smyrna Beach homeowners full protection from water damage.

Drain Boxes

For low-lying areas that hold standing water, drain boxes, also called catch basins, provide a reliable fix. They gather water at the surface and send it through underground piping, helping New Smyrna Beach homeowners eliminate swampy spots and maintain a healthy landscape.

Our Drainage Solution Process in New Smyrna Beach

Every property is different, and so is every drainage system we install. At Tree of Life Landscaping, we follow a proven step-by-step process to make sure your system works properly, blends into your landscape, and lasts for years.

      1. On-site evaluation
We begin with a visit to your New Smyrna Beach property to see how water moves across it. Our team checks grading, soil conditions, and runoff patterns, while noting issues like low spots, overflowing downspouts, or areas prone to erosion.
      2. Custom drainage design
Using NDS-certified best practices, we create a drainage plan tailored to your home. This may include French drains, downspout piping, drain boxes, channel drains, or pop-up emitters, designed to work together as a complete system.
      3. Professional installation
Our crew installs your system with precision, using quality materials and clean techniques. We protect your existing landscaping, work efficiently, and restore disturbed areas such as sod, mulch, or pavers once the job is done.
      4. Long-term results
We don’t cut corners or offer temporary fixes. Every drainage system we install is built to address the problem at the source and continue protecting your property well beyond the next storm.

This contractor is highly recommended. They installed a retaining wall, paver patio, paver walkway and French drain, with decorative rock on top and along the border. They were professional, respectful of our property and had genuine concern over the quality of their work.

I recently had gutters and downspouts installed on my house and noticed a lot of standing water coming from one of the downspouts. I contacted Michael about possible drainage solutions and he suggested a french drain. He was able to come look at the site the same day, and after the utility lines were marked he installed the drain in one day. He was very professional and helpful, even taking time to make a trip to the hardware store to improve the design of the drain. I was very satisfied with the price, the speed, and the function of the project. I would highly recommend Tree of Life to anybody who needs landscaping. (He also contacted me a month later after some hard rain to check how it working. Great service!)

Mike was very easy to work with and I am extremely happy with the work he did for me. He did hard and soft landscaping, irrigation repair, installed two French drains, and cleaned and sealed my paver driveway. Extremely extremely happy with the results. He picks materials of good quality for installation, and takes pride in his work, coming and checking on if there is anything that needs adjusting after completion of the project. I definitely recommend.
